The Taming of the Slough is an adventure race (like an off-road triathalon) organized by River Action in which participants complete three events (kayak/canoe, mountain bike, and running) in a time trial fashion. The event is held in downtown Moline, IL on the banks of the Mississippi River and utilizes trails on Sylvan Island Park for mountain biking, Sylvan Slough for the kayak/canoe paddle, and downtown Moline streets and Velie Park for the running/off-road hill climb segment.
Use the search box at the upper right corner of the page to quickly find images of racers by using the string taming ***where *** represents the racers bib number. Try searching for taming unknown if you don't find the racer you are looking for. You may also narrow the search results by using the keywords bike, run, and paddle along with the previous query.
