Taming of the Slough 2010

The Taming of the Slough is an adventure race (an off-road triathlon) organized by River Action in which participants must complete three events (kayak/canoe, mountain bike, and running) in a time trial fashion. The event is held in downtown Moline, IL on the banks of the Mississippi River and utilizes trails on Sylvan Island Park for mountain biking, Sylvan Slough for the kayak/canoe paddle, and downtown Moline streets and Velie Park for the running/off-road hill climb segment. The rain this year made the hill climb and mountain bike course treacherous but it didn't seem to dampen the racers' spirits!
