Four months after the city of Moline closed the only land access point to Sylvan Island the property is showing signs of a more primitive state. No maintenance and little to no use by the public has resulted in the return of prairie grasses and plants in once mowed lawns and the slow erasure of biking and hiking trails by the forest.
